With all the hustle and bustle that is NYC, it may come to no surprise that self neglect is quite a commonality for us city goers. With work, the blog, and school, prioritizing self care is a huge focus for us in 2018. Check out a few city spots that embody quick, and effective self care that will leave you feeling refreshed, and re-energized.
.) Skin Laundry – we love the 15 minute laser and light facial at Skin Laundry. This express facial has most of the same procedures as its full-length counterparts, but at an accelerated pace. The lasers unclog congestion, and leave skin feeling cleansed, toned, and brighter. An SL bonus is that the first facial is FREE, so check it out. Located in Flatiron & Tribeca. https://www.skinlaundry.com/
.) Sundays – This NYC nail salon gained popularity with its non-toxic, cruelty free, vegan nail care products, and services to their clients! What a great concept, right? The salon even offers nail treatments while listening to guided meditation that can help with focus, memory, increased confidence, and overall wellness. Locations include NoMad & Saks Fifth Ave Studio. http://www.dearsundays.com/
.) MNDFL - This light-filled meditation studio has been thoughtfully curated and offers a stylish, quiet, inclusive space—The simple concept and chic décor leave you feeling ambient, and at peace. We highly recommend visiting MNDFL when you are feeling an imbalance. Downtown location is on 10 E 8th Street. https://www.mndflmeditation.com/
.) MAHA ROSE Center for Healing – We have not been here yet, but it is on our list. We've heard that MAHA ROSE is a once in a lifetime experience! On one Sunday every month, Maha Rose in Greenpoint hosts a professional music psychotherapist who uses instruments like tuning forks, singing bowls, and her own voice to send soothing, deeply relaxing sound across your body as you meditate. This sounds amazing, and has shown to relieve stress, anxiety, and even physical pain. Locations include 97 Green Street, #G3. https://www.maharose.com/collections
.) Juice Generation – One of our most favorite snacks in NYC that is low in sugar and calories - and is actually good for you! We don’t know what is more self-loving than the Almond Butter Bliss Acai bowl at Juice Generation. We will substitute this bowl whenever we are craving chocolate ice cream. Yes, that’s what it tastes like, and always curbs the crave. So, treat yourself guilt free to this delicious bowl of almond butter, plant protein, coconut shavings, blueberries, and more.
